Hi, Ziyna Ember here. I’m in Shes’ place at 186,000 Velocity Street™ to give you a glimpse into Eliyora Entertainment’s™ singer of R&B Music. Instead of a standard biography, I thought it would be more personal to let you get to know a bit of Shes through her own words.
Ziyna: Hi Shes, thanks for having me!
Shes: Hi Ziyna, thanks for coming! You’re just in time — I was just cutting myself a piece of Red Velvet Cake, you want a piece?
Ziyna: My Gosh, yes! Lordy, Lordy this is good! Talk about melt-in-your-mouth rich! Please be kind and share the recipe.
Shes: (Laughs) Sure. (Sings) “Make Red Velvet Cake…” Da-da-da-da-doody-do-do.” (Both laugh while finishing their cake.)
Ziyna: Well, I made quick business of that, didn’t I! So Shes, you’re Eliyora Entertainment’s R&B singer. That’s a wide expanse to cover, tell us more about what type of R&B turns your crank.
Shes: [Licking a last bit of frosting off her fingers] Well, I can only take one bite of the elephant at a time, so I’m beginning with what I call New Orleans style R&B, for lack of a better description. And that gives me so much to work with I honestly can’t tell you if I’ll get the itch to do anything else!
Ziyna: Hmmm…what is New Orleans style R&B — how would you describe it?
Shes: Shoot! I was hoping just saying New Orleans would explain, but for those who’ve never been — hmmm, well, how would you explain….it has to be sassy & funky, it has to be what you might call “devil may care,” [or as we like to say “Laissez les bons temps rouler!”], it has to be full of joy, passion and gritty real all at the same time!
But then, New Orleans, as far as I’m concerned, has been pivotal in any music you can call American music. And those roots run real deep, and the tree just keeps growing. And no one here forgets, we just keep dancing with the past, the present and the future all in one pot of music gumbo — you’re going to hear it all, with that unique flavor you won’t find anywhere else in the world!
Ziyna: Wow – can’t wait to hear it!
Shes: Great, I’m having a blast singing them! I’ve released five originals written especially for me by Eliyora Entertainment’s very own composer and producer Sherese Timeless, and she’s already written 15 or so more for me to record. I’m as happy as a pig in mud! Like that great pig commercial I’ve seen lately, with the pig ziplining, “Weeeeeee. Weee-weee-weeeeeeeee!”
Ziyna: You are too funny! Even the titles look sassy, including “Red Velvet Cake!” So is that a New Orleans recipe you treated me to?
Shes: Sure is! It’s a bajillion calories, too! But you gotta live it up a little! Life is just a blink!
Ziyna: Well we’re sure you’ll show us how! We look forward to hearing all of your sass!
