BIOGRAPHY
Hi, Ziyna Ember here. I’m in Sere’s place at 186,000 Velocity Street™ to give you a glimpse into Eliyora Entertainment’s™ singer of Jazz Music. Instead of a standard biography, I thought it would be more personal to let you get to know a bit of Sere through her own words.
Ziyna: Hi Sere, thanks for having me!
Sere: Hi Ziyna, thanks for coming! I just made my favorite drink — mint cocoa, would you like some?
Ziyna: Hmmm, mint cocoa, sounds yummy, sure! Wow, how interesting, I don’t taste any sugar but with the mint you don’t need any, so rich and smooth!
Sere: (Laughs) Yeah. All I really need in life is chocolate — and jazz!
Ziyna: I totally get the chocolate part, but explain to me — why jazz?
Sere: Wow! Why jazz. This might sound wild, but all my life I’ve been trying to find the sounds that express what I feel — and, so far, jazz comes the closest.
I’m especially drawn to jazz ballads. So many sketches of life & love in the nuances of jazz.
I realize it only dates back to the turn of the century — but something in jazz feels much older, something in it feels like human community.
Ziyna: Human community — wow. I can see that! The birth of jazz is the culmination of a courtship between many musical voices and cultures.
Sere: Yes.
Ziyna: So we get to hear your unique interpretation of what jazz is in your first single?
Sere: Yes. I just released my first single Candle. It was composed and produced for me by Sherese Timeless, our very own composer and producer at Eliyora Entertainment™ and I honestly don’t know how I’m going to top this one, I love it so much!
It is an intimate ballad with an elegantly simple arrangement, which is something I really appreciate. ST HEARD me — for me, less is more with jazz ballads.
Ziyna: Oooo…we look forward to hearing it! If you can figure out how to top it, what’s next?
Sere: Actually, I’m amazed at the breadth of material, the expanse of emotions, Sherese Timeless has already composed for me.
Now it’s up to me to try to do them justice, recording and releasing them, which I’m working on.
She’s allowed me to not only traverse the emotional continuum, but has also put together a variety of jazz styles I love with a wide selection of instrumentation.
I’m also excited that I will always be recording my vocals LIVE at One Take Studios™ using their Zero Edit Recording™ — that way, I can keep it real.
It is going to be so much fun for me — someone pinch me!
